Cost
Why the number varies so much.
A first phase starts from £2,500. Most complete builds land between £5,000 and £25,000, which is a wide enough range to be almost useless on its own. What moves you along it is not how clever the software is. It is how many edge cases the business actually has.
A booking tool with one type of appointment is a fortnight. The same tool where three depots have different lead times, two customer types get different pricing and one manager needs an override is a different project entirely, and the difference is all in the exceptions.
So the first job is finding the smallest build that genuinely solves the problem, which usually means saying no to a good half of the initial wish list and revisiting it once the thing is live. We go through this properly in how we scope a project.
- Fixed price, agreed up front. You get a figure before any work starts, not an hourly rate and a hopeful estimate.
- Phase one is deliberately small. The fastest way to waste money on software is to build the whole thing before anyone has used any of it.
- No per-seat licence. Adding your tenth or fiftieth user costs nothing, which is where off-the-shelf tools quietly get expensive.
- Running costs stay tiny. Serverless infrastructure bills for what you use, and for most businesses that is a rounding error against a subscription per head per month.
Under the bonnet
What it actually runs on.
You do not need to care about this, but you should be able to check it. Nothing here is proprietary to us, so you are never locked in.
Our default stack ships from one repository to Cloudflare's global network. The interface is static files served from the edge, the logic runs as serverless functions, and the data sits in a managed database alongside file storage. Sign in is handled by Cloudflare Access with a one-time code, so there is no password database of yours to be breached.
Practically, that means no server to maintain, no per-seat licence, and infrastructure that costs pennies at the scale most SMEs operate at. Every change goes out through a preview link you can click before it reaches anyone, and any deploy can be rolled back in moments.
